You shouldn’t have to explain yourself first.
I’m a queer woman, and I’ve spent years working in LGBTQIA+ and gender-affirming services and advocacy. So you’re not translating yourself, or teaching the basics, before the real work can start. Your sexuality, your gender, the words you use for yourself, the shape of your relationships and family are the starting point, not something to justify.
Being LGBTQIA+ isn’t a side note to your mental health here. It’s woven through how eating, body image, identity, neurodivergence, safety and belonging are held, in one room, without the hand-offs. And affirming care isn’t only about what’s hard: joy, euphoria and the relief of being met as yourself belong here too.
Worth saying
More than a tickbox
Queer-led and neurodivergent-led affirming care for lesbian, gay, bi and queer people, trans, gender diverse and non-binary folks, and Sistergirls and Brotherboys. Everyone named on purpose — being seen starts with being named.
